CHILD FRIENDLY CITIES INITIATIVE

CHILD FRIENDLY CITIES INITIATIVE

Our mission is to establish Child Friendly Cities Initiatives, ensuring all children thrive in secure environments, fulfilling their rights and potential. Addressing gaps in child rights is crucialChildren, supported by civil society, drive this initiative. Our approach involves sustained, rights-based engagement between children and city administration, advocating for constitutionally and legislatively mandated child rights. We target diverse cities which have significant presence of child centric rights including Vadodara, Rajamundry, Chandigarh, and Salem, and now focussing on Dimapur and Shillong. Children aged 12 to 18, along with various civil society segments, empower this effort. Components include forming child groups, alliances for child rights, and multi-stakeholder support from businesses, media, and activists. Engagement with city administrators and leaders fosters policy awareness and implementation. Our journey creates Child Friendly Cities, prioritizing children’s well-being and rights.
