The The children in the Logo represent the different abilities that they have and the colourful rainbow indicates the innocent happiness in the faces of children. The road cum rail bridge is the 2nd biggest in Asia and is the pride of Rajamahendeavaram. It indicates progress and also how this initiative can make children reach their dream City.

The city Rajamahendravaram is situated in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh with a population of 476 thousand and spread over 14k sq km.To achieve this child-friendly city objective we have taken a children’s rights based approach, by engaging the children, civil society and the administrative bodies to create an environment a platform for holistic development.

The project is initially for three years starting 2018 and we plan to make it self-sustainable by the end.

Rajamahendravaram situated on the banks of Godavari river is blessed with fertile soil and water. But there are various issues existing in the communities like Child Labour, child marriage, child trafficking, child abuses, street children school drop outs, etc.

With experience and committed staff the civil society, line departments are mobilised to take up the responsibility of creating a child friendly environment in 50 wards and in other 4 surrounding areas of Rajamahendravaram.

CFCR staff started several Awareness Campaigns in schools and in the community with parents to make children for holistic development. The duty bearers, civil society, NGOs, etc are part of the initiative to make this city Child friendly. Few major activities were conducted with the collaborative efforts of our staff like Sub- collector, DCPO, CWC, CHIKD LABOUR DEPT.

NGOs like World Vision, Lion’s Club, Rotatory Club, Creators, Sravanthi, Magic bus, Chamber Of Commerce and Pantam Satyanarayana Charitable Trust, AKWA and other Child Caring Homes like Alambana Children Homes and Matru Sri Children Home are joining hands with us to reach the goal.
