The “YaR Awards 2018” presentation ceremony enthralled over 120 delegates from 18 states of India on the evening of 13 September 2018 at Mother Theresa Auditorium, Seva Kendra, Kolkata. The event marked the conclusion of the 13th YaR Annual National Seminar with the theme “Building Resilience in Children”.
The top award of the year, “Life Time Achievement” for service to Young at Risk went to Fr Scaria Nedumattathil from Kolkata Province for his pioneering and innovative work with young prisoners and contribution to development of vocational training centers in prisons. Fr Scariais the recipient of many other awards including National Legal Services Authority Award 2006 and the Pascual Chavez Award 2012.
Personalities of DB YaR Forum Awards were won by Fr Peyyala Ignatius and Mr Lingam Malleswara Rao who were recently appointed members of Child Welfare Committee in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh.
CCI Fraternity Forum, New Delhi bagged the award for Innovative YaR Program and Fr Joe Prabhu received the YaR Research Award.
Home-Link Best Hub Award went toChennai Hub. The Best Node Award was won by BOSCO Boys Borivli and the Emerging Node Award was received by Building Blocks, Bangalore.
DB YaR Forum also acknowledged awards received from state and central governments by individuals and institutions. DB AnbuIllam Coimbatore received two awards during 2017-18: Award for Welfare of Society from Business Network International Coimbatore & Best Children’s Parliament and Eco Club of Police Boys and Girls from Coimbatore City Police.
Fr George Miranda was recognized for receiving the Best Practices for Children Award from Shri Atmarambhai Parmar, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat, and Smt Jagruthiben Haren Panday, Chairperson, Gujarat State Child Protection Society.
