The Annual National Hub Coordinator training program of Homelink Network of DB YaR Forum got off to a prayerful start on 4TH October 2018, at Don Bosco House, Dwarka, New Delhi.

The two-day training program started with a motivational talk by Executive Director of the Forum Fr. Thomas Koshy and Fr Albert Johnson - Secretary, SPCSA and Rector of Don Bosco SPCI House. Participants from 8regions were present for the training program. The focus of the sessions was on holistic training related to data driven analysis, research and documentation. Motivational, strategical and goal driven working was the objective behind the 2-day training program.

Topics covered included Understanding YaR Centers and services in the present day context, functions and achievements of Homelink Network, knowing your organization Poster Campaign, Implementing Juvenile Justice System in YaR Centers, Financial Guidelines, Training tools, Research and analysis,marketing and social media strategies.

The Hub Coordinators presented their Child Flow poster and statistical report poster for each department in every node, under “Know your organization campaign”. The campaign helped the organization in understanding step by step child movement, documents used and person in-charge for the same. With the help of graph, the organization was helped to develop analytical and data driven perspective. Hence, making the organization to think critically with scientific temper.

The technical team did a live demonstration of child PPA(people protection App) adopted by the Homelink network in collaboration with ‘IT WILL BE’ an NGO from Spain. The PPA is an online platform with three biometric tools namely finger print, photo comparison and palm reader. The app helps in tracing the missing child with the help of his/her biometric details. It also helps in knowing the location of the child each time the child’s data is entered with the help of GPS Tracker.

A systemic approach towards implementation of Juvenile Justice System in YaR centers was also taken up. The relation between JJ Registers and ChildMISS was also discussed followed by sharing and demonstration of training tools used by Hub Coordinators in training the YaR centers.

The meeting concluded with a positive reflection on the mission of protecting children.
